At the opening of the 18th Festival "Youth - for the Union State" in Mogilev, Chairman of the Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia on youth policy Artem Turov emphasized the importance of preserving historical truth and opposing attempts to distort it. He noted that it is the younger generation that is responsible for protecting the memory of the Great Patriotic War from pressure and the hybrid war unleashed against Russia and Belarus, reports a Soyuz.by correspondent.

"The younger generation bears a very great responsibility. As successors of the generation of victors, they must resist the pressure, the hybrid war that is being waged by the West against Russia and Belarus. And one of its forms is the substitution of historical truth," Artem Turov emphasized.

Turov also noted that the Youth Forum "The Role of Youth in Preserving and Protecting Historical Memory," which is being held in Belarus for the first time, helps strengthen relations between regions and involve young historians, teachers and students in the process of preserving historical truth.

He emphasized that the presidents of Belarus and Russia pay special attention to the patriotic education of young people, and this topic is actively promoted in education and creativity. "The topic of patriotism, love for one's small homeland, for our countries in general, actively figures in both education and creativity of our states. And our young people are deeply immersed in history. This is very important," Turov noted.
