People's diplomacy plays a huge role in strengthening relations between the Russian and Belarusian people, head of the Russian-Belarusian Brotherhood and the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts Alexey Vorontsov told the media, BelTA has learned.

The Russian-Belarusian Brotherhood was founded in 1996. “We have been to almost all Belarusian cities. I simply admire your country. It is enough to come to Minsk and visit your National Museum and you get a very complete picture of brotherly Belarus, its past, history, sufferings, especially its role in the victory in the Great Patriotic War. There was the same genocide against the Belarusian people as against the Jewish and other peoples. We have been to Brest and Khatyn. The Russian-Belarusian Brotherhood hosts dozens of scientific conferences. We actively support the policy of Aleksandr Lukashenko to create strong relations within the Union State. This policy has proved its worth,” the head of the brotherhood said.
According to him, the relations between Belarus and Russia rely on a solid foundation of people's diplomacy. “People's diplomacy, indeed, plays a huge role in strengthening the fraternal relations between the Russian and Belarusian nations,” said Alexey Vorontsov.
