Rescuers from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan share best practices

Representatives of emergency response units from Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan gathered in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 1 July to discuss strategies to extinguish fires and conduct rescue operations in high-rise buildings and facilities with large public gatherings, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.

The Belarusian delegation led by Head of the Supervision and Prevention Department of the Emergencies Ministry Dmitry Turchin took part in discussions on advanced emergency response techniques, shared its experience and best practices with colleagues from other countries.
Special attention was given to a tactical training exercise conducted by Kazakhstan’s rescue service at the 35-story Orion 3 residential complex. The drill simulated a complex high-rise fire scenario involving large-scale evacuation. Various methods were tested to deliver extinguishing agents to upper floors, including the use of aerial equipment and mountaineering gear. More than 25 fire and rescue vehicles and around 160 personnel participated in the exercise.
Deputy Head of the Emergency Response and Rescue Services Department of the Emergencies Ministry Yegor Nikitenko delivered presentations on behalf of Belarus on the topics “The Experience of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry in Firefighting and Rescue Operations at Facilities with Large Public Gatherings” and “Training of Personnel in Fire and Rescue Units”.
The event served as an important platform to promote international cooperation, share best practices, and develop unified approaches to safety in densely built urban environments and increasingly high-rise structures.
