“Our enterprise is export-oriented. In January-October 2023 some 12.9 million square meters of carpets and carpet products were supplied to the CIS and non-CIS countries. Exports accounted for 87.4% of the shipped products. The exports made up $33 million in January-October 2023. The geography of supplies is extensive. We ship 86.3% of our products to the Russian Federation. We also supply our carpets to Kyrgyzstan (7.5%), Kazakhstan (3.3%), Moldova (1.1%), as well as Armenia, Romania, Mongolia, and Hungary,” the deputy director general said.
According to her, Vitebsk carpets are in demand not only in the Russian border regions, but also in the Far East and even in Murmansk. “Different types of carpets are represented on this market. However, one can notice certain trends in the use of color schemes and patterns in different regions. In general, abstract patterns are largely popular in the carpet products we produce for delivery to Russia. They boast gentle beige and gray colors, which adds comfort and coziness to the interior design. These colors are especially popular in modern design and harmoniously combine with various styles. Eastern regions of Russia present their own unique traditional palette. Here carpets stand out with bright red, blue and green colors. These shades add energy and brightness to the interiors, keeping in touch with the rich cultural history of the region,” Yelena Shchukina said.
