Moscow and Minsk have signed a protocol to amend the agreement on prices for the supply of Russian gas to Belarus and its transportation via pipelines located in Belarus. The document provides an opportunity for cooperation between the two countries in 2020, TASS cited the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation as saying.

“The document opens up an opportunity for further mutually-beneficial cooperation between the two countries in what concerns gas supplies to Belarus in 2020,” the ministry said.

The protocol to introduce amendments to the agreement of 25 November 2011 was signed by Russian Minister of Energy Aleksandr Novak and Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko.

As BelTA reported earlier, on 7 February the countries agreed on gas prices up to 2021. Russia will continue supplying gas at the terms of 2019, i.e. $127 per 1,000 cubic meters.
