On September 13, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the press service of the head of state reports.

"First of all, I want to thank you for taking the time to come to Belarus and get to know modern Belarus today. Your visit is also important because by the will of fate, maybe, as you say, it all comes from Allah, we were in the same boat and absolutely do not regret it. They are trying to slander us in the media. We understand this, we are experienced people - there is an information confrontation. Maybe even with elements of information warfare. Nevertheless, we are still withstanding sanctions and other pressure," the Belarusian leader said.

"During the acute military and political situation in the Middle East (and you are seriously involved in the conflict in the Middle East), near the borders of Belarus, in this European region, we do not just need consultations, we need joint actions with your country. We are moving towards a multipolar world. It will be a very difficult path. And, fortunately, both Iran and other countries understand this well," Alexander Lukashenko noted.

He noted that such new organizations as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, of which Belarus has recently become a full member, are gaining momentum very seriously. "In this regard, I would like to thank Iran for the tremendous support that you provided to us when joining the SCO," the President said.

According to him, in the current difficult situation of confrontation, security issues are coming to the fore. "But you must agree that security will be effective when the economy is working, when trade and economic relations between the countries are very serious and dynamically developing," Alexander Lukashenko said. - We see a constant increase in trade between the two countries. And, most importantly, we must prevent a slowdown in trade and economic relations. Because this is the foundation, the foundation of our actions and relationships."

Alexander Lukashenko extended an invitation to Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian to pay a visit to Belarus.

"The Iranian people have recently experienced a great misfortune - your President died. But you have bravely passed this period, you have elected a new President. I congratulate you on this and I want you to tell your President that we are waiting for him to come to Belarus," the Head of State said.

According to him, if the Iranian side accepts this proposal, it will be necessary to prepare seriously in all areas for the summit: "The economy, trade and economic relations, security, and military-technical cooperation. As I understand it, there are no forbidden topics between us."

"Most importantly, I want you to understand that Belarus has always been a reliable partner of Iran. And we are ready to go our way with dignity," Alexander Lukashenko assured.

He also conveyed warm greetings and wishes to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

"I ask you very much that, while conveying my wishes and congratulations to the current new President, you do not forget to convey my warmest greetings to the spiritual leader of Iran, Mr. Khamenei. We are very old friends and we know him well. Moreover, for many, many years," Alexander Lukashenko said.

In turn, the foreign guest thanked the President of Belarus for the opportunity to meet. He noted that a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations at various levels have taken place recently. The Belarusian head of state visited Iran in March 2023, and Iranian delegations also visited Belarus. Ali Akbar Ahmadian separately mentioned Alexander Lukashenko's meeting with Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and what recommendations were given to the Iranian leadership after that meeting.

"Let me convey to you warm greetings from the spiritual leader of Iran and from the current President of Iran," the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council continued. He also thanked the President for the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the inauguration ceremony of the new President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and for the condolences received by Iran in connection with the tragic death of the previous Head of State, Ebrahim Raisi.
