Lukashenko: ZUBR emergencies unit proves its worth worldwide

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to the workers and veterans of the Republican Special Response Team ZUBR of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry as the agency is celebrating its 35th anniversary, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The creation of your unit was a response to the challenges of a new era, marked by large-scale industrial accidents and natural disasters, requiring rapid response and the rescue of our citizens,” the message of greetings reads.
The head of state noted that over the years a team of highly skilled professionals has been formed, consisting of rescuers, dog handlers, explosive ordnance disposal technicians, divers, chemists, medics, and other specialists. A solid material and technical base has been established, extensive experience has been accumulated, and competencies have been developed for operating in the most complex emergency situations. As a result, the unit has become part of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces and a full member of the CIS Emergency Response Corps. “You have proven yourselves worthy in dozens of rescue operations around the world,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
The president thanked all workers and veterans of the unit for their service: “Your work in saving lives, your humanitarian activities, and your high sporting achievements are a worthy contribution to the development of our country and the strengthening of its international standing - a shining example of devoted service to the Belarusian people.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the workers and veterans of the ZUBR unit robust health, happiness, wellbeing, a peaceful sky above, and new successes for the benefit of their native Belarus.
