Lukashenko congratulates Patriarch Kirill  on his Name Day

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on his Name Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Your heavenly patron, Saint Cyril Equal-to-the-Apostles kindled the unquenchable light of faith and knowledge for the Slavic peoples,” the felicitation message reads. “Being a wise follower of Orthodox enlightenment in our time, you continue the great work nurturing in people’s hearts kindness, love for the Fatherland, and a caring attitude toward their roots.”

The head of state wished the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia good health, peace, and God’s blessing for many years: “I share with you the joy of this spiritual holiday and express my sincere respect for your high mission. May the intercession of your guardian angel serve as a reliable protection from all trials.”
