The number of areas for cooperation between Belarus and Russia's Krasnodar Territory keeps growing, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi told the media on 20 November, BelTA has learned.

“Given the intensity and level of meetings (high-level visits and exchange of delegations take place virtually every six months), Krasnodar Territory is one of the strategic regions for us at the moment. We have a very broad range of interaction, the number of areas in which we cooperate is growing. If we consider trade as a measure of our relations or some visible indicator, we can say that this year we are going to exceed the $600 million threshold for the first time in the history of our relations. Last year the growth was 60%, this year – we have grown another 12% to the already high base. This is actually a twofold increase from the pre-pandemic level,” Dmitry Krutoi said.

According to him, this has become possible, among other things, due to the increase in the number of enterprises that directly cooperate, the number of industries in which cooperation has begun, and the great attention that the region's leadership pays to relations with Belarus. “Over the past two years, we can say we have rediscovered each other in a number of areas. The number of joint projects is on the rise,” the ambassador said.

As BelTA reported earlier, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko arrived in Krasnodar on a working visit on 20 November. This is the first stop of the Belarusian government delegation's trip around the Russian regions. During the working visit, Roman Golovchenko is scheduled to meet with Governor of Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev.
