“Our cooperation in the Union State holds special strategic significance. Trade turnover between our countries grew by more than 30% from 2021 to 2025, while a balance of imports and exports has been maintained. Our economies complement each other very well. In the currency structure of our settlements, national currencies – the Russian ruble and the Belarusian ruble – account for the predominant share. The coordinated actions of the central banks of Belarus and Russia help ensure the stability of national banking systems, protect the interests of citizens and businesses, and give impetus to our other partners in integration associations, including the EAEU and the CIS. We are setting a very high standard for integration. There are no problems in our cooperation that we cannot resolve,” Roman Golovchenko said.
The agenda of the meeting includes the current economic situation and the banking systems’ performance in the first half of 2026, as well as forecasts for economic and monetary development in Belarus and Russia for 2027.
