Working group on cooperation between Belarus, Russia’s Irkutsk to meet 25 August

The 11th meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Russia's Irkutsk Oblast will take place on 25 August, BelTA has learned from the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

A Belarusian delegation has already arrived in the Russian region. It is led by Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Piotr Parkhomchik, who is the point man in the Belarusian government for cooperation between Belarus and Irkutsk Oblast of Russia. The parties will discuss the outcomes of cooperation in the first half of 2026 and outline projects for the near future. A plan of action on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, culture and humanitarian matters for 2026–2028 is expected to be signed.
The working group meet alternately on Belarusian and Russian soil.
A representative Belarusian delegation comprises both officials and business representatives. They are set to tour local enterprises and participate in the Baikal International Partners Forum, a business matchmaking event for exporters and importers, and a trade and procurement session with retail chains.
The Belarusian delegation’s visit will run through 27 August.
