Lukashenko sends Unity Day greetings to Yemen

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and the citizens of Yemen on Unity Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state pointed to active and effective work of Yemen to restore state institutions based on the principles of justice and equality, to protect the civilian population, and to fulfill social and economic commitments.

“I hope that the courageous people of Yemen will gradually return to normal life, that the ceasefire will be sustainable and that a long-term political settlement will be achieved under the auspices of the UN and friendly states,” the message reads.

Belarus would like to see Yemen among its traditional partner in the Arab world again. Belarus is interested in intensifying the relations with this country both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations.

“Belarus is ready to supply your country with necessary goods, including food, medicines, agricultural products, trucks and road construction equipment,” the head of state stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi good health, happiness and success, and the people of Yemen peace and prosperity.
