The first stage of the renovation of the Brest Science and Technology Park has been completed. This information was announced during Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko's working trip to Brest on 7 July, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko was primarily interested in the operation of the park, promising and accomplished projects of its resident companies. The technology park was given a former workshop of Brest Electromechanical Plant. The renovation of this four-story production facility began in November 2020. When the renovation project is completed, the usable area of the building will be expanded from 16,500m2 to 28,500m2. This will be done through the installation of additional ceilings and creation of additional 3.6m-high floors from the premises with a height of 7.2m. The first stage of the work has already been completed; offices and industrial premises have been equipped in the building. All in all, the work will be done in three stages. Thus, by now the technology park has expanded by 7,000m2.

“The second stage provides for the renovation of another five floors. They will be gradually commissioned. One floor will be meant for manufacturing operations. The remaining floors will be mixed: there will be offices, clean production, public and cultural premises. I think the renovation may be completed in 2025-2026,” said Dmitry Makaruk, Director of the Brest Science and Technology Park. The new premises are designed to accommodate industrial, administrative areas, and conference halls.

A resource sharing center was created in the technology park on the basis of 4.0 technology. It was fitted with advanced equipment for small-scale and pilot production of metal and polymer products. This will be a full-cycle production facility. Conditions have been created for resident companies and their partners to launch joint operations and services. One can also engage in research and development, prototyping, testing of research outcomes, development and projects. A mobile application has also been developed to help resident companies and their clients navigate the services of the technology park.

“We take part in the One Region - One Project program. As part of this project, we chose three areas of focus. The first one is the production of sophisticated 3D injection molds for mechanical engineering. The first products have already been launched. We are working on the production of robotic complexes for processing industries and enterprises engaged in mass production. “We have a whole conglomerate of the university and resident companies of the technology park, the driver is Savushkin Product. The third area of work is the production of pumps from composite materials for the housing and utility sector, the food industry, and the petrochemical industry,” Dmitry Makaruk informed. These projects are carried out by the engineering group of the technology park and its resident companies.
