Potato harvest in Belarus reaches 34,000 tonnes

Belarus has already cropped more than 34,000 tonnes of potatoes, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 1 September, 97.5% of the area under grain and leguminous crops and 92% of the area under rapeseed was cleared in Belarus.

A total of 7,020,000 tonnes of grain was cropped.

Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting cereal crops: more than 7,200 tonnes of buckwheat and and 6,300 tonnes of millet have been cropped.

Sowing of winter rapeseed for grain has been completed. All regions in Belarus have completed flax pulling. The flax straw harvest has reached 59,000 tonnes.

Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 66% of the area. Primary tillage was conducted on 17% of the cleared area.

Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting potatoes. Some 34,000 tonnes of potatoes have already been removed from fields. The yield is 382 centners per hectare.

Some 1,749,000 tonnes of corn for silage have been cropped so far.
