A delegation led by Governor of Russia’s St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov is on a visit to Brest Oblast. The three-day visit will run until 29 October, BelTA has learned.

In January-August 2026, exports from businesses in Brest Oblast to St. Petersburg increased by almost 15.6% year-on-year. Brest Oblast supplies St. Petersburg with a wide range of goods, including dairy and meat products, prepared and canned fish, mushrooms, vegetables, and non-food items. The parties also cooperate in education and culture.

The Russian delegation has a busy program. On 27 October, the guests were welcomed with bread and salt at the giant European bison sculpture on the border between Brest Oblast and Minsk Oblast. A concert featuring leading artistic groups from St. Petersburg is scheduled for the evening at the Brest Academic Drama Theater. Official meetings and talks will be held on 28-29 October. The delegation will also visit several enterprises, the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex, a youth patriotic center, and the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park.

The parties regularly exchange visits. In particular, delegations from Brest Oblast visited St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast in April and September 2026.
