Most popular truck models made by Belarusian BelAZ revealed

Sergei Nikiforovich, Director General of OAO BelAZ, managing company of the holding company BelAZ, talked to reporters about the most popular models of the vehicles the Belarusian heavy truck manufacturer makes, BelTA has learned.

Over 30 drivers of haul trucks came from Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus to the Belarusian city of Zhodino on 12 September in order to compete for the title of the best driver in the BelAZ Operators Club. A 130-tonne model was chosen for the competition.
“It is a top model. We are the leading seller of this kind of products – about 85% of the market in this class of carrying capacity,” Sergei Nikiforovich said.
BelAZ's 220-tonne vehicles also sell well. “We also pay serious attention to sales of the upgraded haul truck with the carrying capacity of 180 tonnes. We see the demand for it. The vehicle is already ready for shipment,” the head of the company added.

A 90-tonne truck is another key product. The company is about to finish reconstructing the main assembly line building where this model will be batch-produced.
Sergei Nikiforovich went on saying: “We keep moving. We move towards ecology and modern solutions. In some positions we are already ahead of the competition. During an anniversary event we will present a new product. We will show what the Belarusian mechanical engineering industry is capable of.”
BelAZ sells vehicles virtually in all countries across the globe. The geography of sales remains in place despite the geopolitical situation. “We haven't lost a single country. We are represented everywhere,” the head of the holding company BelAZ said.
The BelAZ Operators Club championship is hailed as a momentous event. It is supposed to bring together professionals from various countries. Such competitions are becoming a good tradition for the company.
