Minsk mayor: Cooperation with Russia's Ulyanovsk Oblast is inter-state in nature

Cooperation with Russia's Ulyanovsk Oblast is not regional, but inter-state in nature, Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev told reporters, BelTA has learned.

Minsk is hosting a meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Ulyanovsk Oblast on 6 October. The meeting is co-chaired by Vladimir Kukharev and Ulyanovsk Oblast Governor Alexei Russkikh.

“Such visits by delegations of Russian regions are very important. They allow us to study each other's capacities in production, technology, and thrash out cooperation plans. During the ongoing visit, we outlined a number of joint activities for the near future that are not regional, but inter-state in nature as these projects will give a significant boost to our aircraft manufacturing, mechanical engineering. Of course, the social sphere is also very important, because we have many common interests here,” said Vladimir Kukharev.

According to him, the effectiveness of such meetings is beyond doubt. “We have reviewed our work and come to the conclusion that everything that was planned during the previous meeting has been implemented. And it is very important that we are tapping into new areas of activity. Our collaborations are mutually beneficial and produce tangible results,” Vladimir Kukharev added.
