Investment is the basis of Belarus' economic development this year, Belarusian First Deputy Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar told the media, BelTA has learned.

Improving the competitiveness of domestic products remains the key issue in the implementation of the country's export strategy. “This year investment is the basis of economic development. We set the task to increase it by 22.3% and to reverse the negative trend of the recent years,” the first deputy economy minister said.

“For the successful development of business, implementation of new projects, including in the conditions of external challenges, we have been working hard to stimulate measures to attract investment and to reduce existing barriers. All key activities are united into a set of measures to launch a new investment cycle. It is updated every year,” Yuri Chebotar said.

A number of measures to update the legal acts in investment, land and property relations, architectural and construction issues were adopted in 2021-2022.
