Manufacturing sector described as driver of Belarusian economy's development

The manufacturing sector drives the development of the Belarusian economy. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik mentioned it as an exhibition of innovative products and industrial goods opened in Minsk ahead of People's Unity Day, BelTA has learned.

Piotr Parkhomchik said: “With confidence I'd like to state the fact that for the last few years the manufacturing sector has been the driver of development of our economy. In January-August 2023 the output growth rate totaled 107.9%. It is a very good result taking into account all the current complications and challenges on the part of unfriendly countries.”

He noted that results of the manufacturing sector's work are showcased at various expos. “This year we've demonstrated our accomplishments at the Intellectual Belarus expo. A cascade of exhibition events took place all over Belarus. We made a very impressive appearance at the Innoprom expo in Yekaterinburg. We will soon celebrate a professional holiday of our industrial workers. The celebration will take place in Vitebsk. We invite you to once again see what our industrialists have accomplished over the last few years. We have something to be proud of. We have something worth showing,” the official underlined.

As for the exhibition in Minsk, residents and guests of the city will be able to see the best products of Belarus' defense industry, products of Belarusian heavy and light industry enterprises, electronics manufacturers. Tasty novelties have been put on display by food industry enterprises. Apart from that, Belarusian scientists and inventors as well as representatives of education institutions demonstrate their accomplishments and R&D products.

Multiple exhibits are showcased during the exhibition, including outsized machines and vehicles, dummy models. Minsk's leading enterprises also organized their own presentations.

The exhibition will work in Minsk Arena from 11:00 till 20:00 on 15-17 September. Admittance is free. The Minsk City Executive Committee is the organizer.
