EXPO 2020 Dubai was a great opportunity for Belarus to demonstrate its potential to the whole world, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Belarus Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh said during a meeting with Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova on 11 November, BelTA has learned.

"I sincerely thank you for this meeting, the reception. All my professional life I have served my country. And now I am glad that the experience that I have accumulated during this time can be applied in such an area as strengthening relations between countries. Also, let me sincerely thank your country for participating in an important event that took place this year. This is EXPO 2020 Dubai, where Belarus successfully presented its pavilion. This exhibition gave a chance to Belarus to show itself to the whole world, to demonstrate its potential. Your country should take advantage of the opportunities provided by this exhibition in order to cooperate with all countries of the world and build on this point in order to develop further," Ambassador Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh said.

According to him, he has already held negotiations with representatives of various government bodies in Belarus. "Of course, we touched on many topics. But first of all, the most important topic is the partnership that our countries have developed for 30 years. Obviously, both sides have an interest in expanding it. Undoubtedly, the changes that we are witnessing now in the region, around the world will bring some new elements to these relations, and we must take advantage of the new things that will emerge in our relations," the ambassador added.
