It is necessary to remove all barriers to the integration of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 19 December, BelTA has learned.

“Today it is more important than ever to focus on a single industrial policy, substitution of critical imports, technological and informational sovereignty and financial stability. It is imperative to speed up the creation of a legal framework for cabotage transportation between Belarus and Russia. This issue is very old, and, unfortunately, it has not been solved yet. The sector of transportation, logistics is, in fact, the lifeblood of the Union State economy,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.

In air transport it is necessary to focus on the issues related to the application of tariffs and fees for air navigation and airport services, the chairman of the House of Representatives emphasized. “There is still a problem with timber supplies from Russia to Belarus, as well as those transited through Russia to third countries,” he added.

“In general, it is necessary to remove all barriers and restrictions that do not allow us to fully use the resource of integration. Unfortunately, we still have such barriers,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.
