Belarusian Bellegprom's export up almost 30% in January-May 2023

Enterprises of the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom increased exports by nearly 30% in January-May 2023, Bellegprom Chairwoman Tatiana Lugina said during the awards ceremony for the winners of the Best Exporter of the Year 2022 contest, BelTA has learned.

According to the Bellegprom head, last year was not easy for all the enterprises of the Belarusian light industry. “It was difficult to change logistics, partners and suppliers. Nevertheless, we did quite well in 2022. The exports grew more than 10%. In January-May 2023 the exports went up 27%. We got these achievements thanks to the systemic work of our teams,” Tatiana Lugina said.

The awards ceremony for the winners of the Best Exporter of 2022 contest took place on 14 June. The contest has been running annually since 2004 thanks to the efforts of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the ministries, state committees, concerns, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Hall, the National Academy of Sciences, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, the Administration of the HTP and business unions.

The 2022 competition final featured 147 participants. Among the winners were 19 enterprises, 25 participants who scored the highest possible number of points and demonstrated outstanding results in the export of products and services.

The 2022 competition finalists exported goods and services worth of $10.4 billion and developed 88 new markets. The nominations that featured the largest number of participants included Mechanical Engineering (24 participants) and Food Industry (16 participants).
