Belarus, Russia working out price terms for next year's natural gas deliveries

Belarus and Russia are working to determine price terms for natural gas deliveries in 2023. Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich made the statement on the sidelines of the international forum Atomexpo in Sochi, BelTA has learned.

Viktor Karankevich said: “Work to determine price conditions for gas deliveries in 2023 is in progress as well as the preparation of principles of the market's operation in the future. Conditions will be enabled for setting up the joint gas market of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.” The work is stipulated by Union State programs.

In addition to the creation of the common energy markets the Union State programs provide for advancing cooperation in the sphere of nuclear energy. “An intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the management of spent nuclear fuel will be signed today. One can say that once the document is signed, all the steps stipulated by the Union State program on the development of nuclear energy industry will be fulfilled,” the Belarusian energy minister said.
