Belarus and Russia intend to sign an international agreement on general principles of taxation. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement at a session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on 4 November, BelTA has learned.

According to Roman Golovchenko, the harmonization of tax regulations and customs ones will become the most important avenue of Belarus-Russia cooperation. “We've been working a lot on this roadmap. It is genuinely rather complicated but at the same time precise, clear, and measurable,” the head of government said.

Belarus and Russia will have to introduce an integrated system for the administration of indirect taxes and sign an international agreement on general principles of taxation with regard to indirect taxes. Apart from that, plans have been made to set up joint consultative bodies of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on taxation and customs affairs.
