The forum is the follow-up of the contacts and agreements reached during the government visit of Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko to Nizhny Novgorod in early February 2023. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry facilitated the inclusion of 60 Belarusian business people in that delegation. “A number of agreements were reached. These days, 30 Nizhny Novgorod companies represented by 60 people are paying a return visit to Belarus. They are studying Belarus' business environment, exchange trade, and public procurement system,” said Mikhail Myatlikov.
According to him, the delegation is particularly interested in automotive components and industrial tools. “Representatives of regional retail chains are also present. The Belarusian business community is also showing interest. About 130 representatives and heads of Belarusian enterprises showed up for the forum, so B2B negotiations will be held a bit later, while tomorrow the Russian delegation will tour our flagship companies - MTZ, MAZ, BelAZ , Belkommunmash and small businesses. Such meetings are very conducive to promoting cooperation between Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of Russia,” the BelCCI head emphasized.
Mikhail Myatlikov also recalled that during the February visit, more than 500 negotiations were held and a number of agreements were concluded due to the assistance from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. “One of them has been implemented today - the organization of a return visit of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast business delegation to Belarus. The increasing number of official and business events testifies to a keen interest of the business communities of Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in building contacts and establishing mutually beneficial cooperation. Import substitution and public procurement remain very high on the cooperation agenda.
There are two more major events ahead - the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Ufa, where the potential of Belarusian enterprises will be showcased, and the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg, where the entire manufacturing industry of Belarus will be presented.
