Belarus, Russia develop program of cooperation between regions

Belarus and Russia have started developing a new program of bilateral cooperation between regions, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.

The concept of the document has been drafted by the International Technical Assistance Department of the Economic Research Institute (ERI) at the Economy Ministry of Belarus together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Following the talks between Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volvach, the parties reached an agreement on the joint development of a pilot program and its subsequent implementation.

The program is expected to involve six regions from both countries. The selection of projects for funding will be carried out on a competitive basis.
