The African continent looks promising for exporting Belarusian food products, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom Oleg Zhidkov before the business forum PromFood began in Minsk.

Belgospishcheprom works with over 30 countries across the globe. “The geography of export is constantly transforming. Last week we shipped the first batch of products [malt] to Equatorial Guinea. It was a test batch. It is a new and interesting market for us. We see that the African continent is promising for us,” Oleg Zhidkov noted.

Apart from that, active cooperation with Asian countries continues. “The main partner is the People's Republic of China. For several years we've been steadily offering a choice of confectionery products on this market and continue increasing product shipments. Today we offer this year's rapeseed oil to China. We are discussing deliveries of Belarusian sugar to the Asian region taking into account the global situation with prices for this product,” the Belgospishcheprom chairman added.

Oleg Zhidkov remarked that all the neighboring countries are interested in cooperation with Belarus, including the Baltic states.
