The 5th Belarusian-Russian Patriotic Forum “We Must Live and Remember” has opened at the Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk.
This large-scale dialogue platform brings together representatives from 16 universities in Belarus and 18 universities in the Russian Federation. Over the course of two days, the forum will serve as a venue for discussing historical events, their consequences, and the contribution of medical professionals to the Great Victory.
State Secretary of the Union State Sergey Glazyev sent a welcome address to the forum participants. The greeting was read out by Vladimir Zhevnyak, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk.

"Belarus and Russia are two countries united by the treaty on the creation of the Union State, which are building economic integration in a new way while preserving their independence and sovereignty, and most importantly, addressing many tasks in a coordinated and consolidated manner," the greeting stated. "Today, great attention is paid to cooperation in the field of youth policy, civic and patriotic education, the development of cultural ties, and the preservation of the memory of our shared historical pages. Such work is becoming a critical condition for the information security of the Union State. That is why the thesis is so relevant: 'Who preserves history - creates the future,'" Sergey Glazyev emphasized.
He characterized the forum as a highly relevant and significant event in the current geopolitical reality and expressed confidence that a constructive dialogue will take place at the forum’s platform, and that its results will serve to further the development of educational cooperation.

On the first day of the "We Must Live and Remember" forum, a plenary session and breakout sessions will be held, focusing on key aspects of military history and contemporary patriotic education.

On the second day of the forum, participants will visit the Khatyn Memorial Complex — a symbol of the tragedy of the Belarusian people during the war. A requiem performance titled "And the saved world remembers..." will be held, along with a concert featuring the Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

The forum will also host the 3rd Belarusian Cardiology Olympiad for Students and Young Scientists with international participation.
