Deputies take part in the festival every year, both as organisers and guests. The programme includes events held with the participation of representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Standing Committee of the Union State.
The festival makes a significant contribution to the process of building the Union State. The Parliamentary Assembly supports all initiatives aimed at bringing the peoples of Belarus and Russia closer together, fostering dialogue and the mutual enrichment of Slavic cultures. The annual meetings in Vitebsk of masters of the arts and their appreciative audiences symbolise the fraternal friendship between Belarusians and Russians that has evolved over the centuries.
The Parliamentary Assembly has established two special prizes for participants in the International Pop Song Competition and two special prizes for participants in the International Children's Music Competition. Traditionally, the best performers from the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in both the pop and children's competitions will be awarded.
The Union State has been involved in the organisation and financing of the festival since 2003. Every year, as part of the Slavianski Bazaar, the Days of the Union State are held, culminating in the gala concert "THE UNION STATE INVITES...". In 2026, the concert programme is entitled "JUBILEE CALENDAR OF THE UNION STATE". It will be dedicated to landmark dates in the history of the Union State and will serve as a vivid embodiment of shared memory, spiritual closeness and the unbreakable fraternal friendship of our peoples.
