"We have quite a rich practice of implementing Union State programmes in the field of supercomputer technologies. The first supercomputer technologies appeared in our institute, and we are the only developers in the Republic of Belarus of these technologies, which are very knowledge-intensive and important in the development of the economies of both countries - Belarus and Russia. Our colleagues, heads of the supercomputer centre of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and their deputies came to discuss the further form of cooperation," - said Sergey Kruglikov.
Vladimir Voevodin, in turn, noted that modern computing technologies are the tool that will allow us to successfully move forward. "Artificial intelligence, traditional mathematical modelling of big data technologies - everything holds on the basis of those technologies that we came here to discuss."
Also on the agenda is a memorandum of co-operation, science, implementation of these technologies in commerce and industry, and education.
Answering the question about the joint developments of the two institutes, director of the RCC-MSU noted that one of such developments is a computer that was created within the framework of the SKIF-GRID programme of the Union State.
"And this co-operation is based on a very good basis. The computer itself has existed for a long time, it has been used for a large number of tasks: from climate to the design of new materials, from information security to the oil and gas sector. This is all this basis, it was used in signing the memorandum and organising cooperation, for the sake of which we are gathered here," - concluded Vladimir Voevodin.
