The House of Representatives has adopted a draft law on ratification of the agreement between Belarus and the Russian Federation on the procedure for recognizing electronic signatures

The draft law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for recognizing an electronic signature (electronic digital signature) in an electronic document in cross-border electronic interaction" was adopted in the second reading at the meeting of the second session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the eighth convocation, BelTA reports.

The bilateral agreement was signed in Moscow on April 15, 2024. The Agreement makes it possible for one party to recognize an electronic signature (electronic digital signature) in an electronic document created (developed) in accordance with the legislation of the state of the other party.

The document defines the principles, conditions and procedure for the recognition of an electronic digital signature in an electronic document in cross-border electronic interaction. The agreement also provides for verification of the validity of the specified signature and the procedure for generating receipts from a trusted third party (intended to confirm the result of verification of an electronic signature (electronic digital signature).
