“Direct ties with Russian regions are essential for building an effective model of trade and economic cooperation and expanding ties between the peoples of Belarus and Russia. This is the reason why we are in Volgograd today. We pay close attention to cooperation with your region. The result is obvious: there is a steady growth in trade, and both Belarusian exports to the region and our imports from Volgograd Oblast are on the rise,” said Roman Golovchenko.
Over the past year, the trade expanded 1.5 times. “This is a good dynamic. It is important to maintain and build momentum in the future. This is possible only through launching new projects,” the prime minister said.
Manufacturers and businesses of Volgograd Oblast are important investors in the economy of Belarus. “We are implementing several investment projects in manufacturing in cooperation with Volgograd organizations, and a number of other projects are in the works,” the Belarusian head of government added.
According to him, sister city relations between Volgograd and Vitebsk are also highly beneficial for bilateral cooperation.
