External pressure on the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus is illegal and unprecedented, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Dmitry Mezentsev told journalists answering a question of a BelTA correspondent during a meeting of the heads of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry of Belarus, the National Archives of Belarus and Head of the Federal Archival Agency of Russia Andrei Artizov.

Dmitry Mezentsev noted that at present Belarus and Russia are advancing to a new level of integration based, among other things, on the Union State programs which number is 28. “These programs are the core of economic integration,” Dmitry Mezentsev said.
“The meeting of the heads of government of Belarus and Russia - a face-to-face conversation - confirmed that there is no alternative to the work that they are doing upon the instruction of the heads of state to build a new level of the Union State integration, which is designed to strengthen competitiveness and boost economic potential, as well as to overcome the unprecedented, unjustified and unlawful sanctions that Russia is experiencing today and that Belarus has been experiencing for a longer time,” the state secretary noted.
The meeting was attended by Director of the National Archives of Belarus Andrei Demyanuk, Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry of Belarus Viktor Kurash, Head of the Federal Archival Agency of Russia Andrei Artizov.
The event took place at the National Archives and focused on Belarus-Russia cooperation in archival and publishing activities. Prior to the meeting, the participants of the exhibition examined unique archival documents from the funds of the National Archives.
