Belarusian athletes won 8 awards at the competitions in St. Petersburg

Belarusian athletes won eight medals at the All-Russian athletics competition "Memorial of Honoured Coach of the USSR V.I. Alekseev" in St. Petersburg, reports the press service of the Ministry of Sport.

Our team took two golds, four silvers and two bronzes. The winner of the competition in shot put with the best personal result of the season (17.84m) was Alena Dubitskaya, and in 60m hurdles Elvira Graborenko finished first. The second places in their disciplines went to Vitaly Parakhonko (60m c/b), Maksym Graborenko (60m), Eugene Skudny (1 mile) and Eugene Brigi (shot put), the third places went to Yanina Lutsenko (60m) and Elena Trus (shot put).

At the end of last week, Belarusian athletes also took part in the All-Russian throwing competition "Bogatyr" in Sochi. Tatsiana Kholodovich won the women's javelin throw, while Aleksei Kotkovets showed the second result in the same discipline for men.
