Belarus intends to ship more machines, vehicles, and equipment to Moscow Oblast in addition to opening a multibrand center over there. Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi made the statement after negotiations with Governor of Russia’s Moscow Oblast Andrei Vorobyov, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Krutoi stated that practically all Belarusian brands of wheeled vehicles and machines are represented in Moscow Oblast. “The governor and I looked at the plans today: the region buys approximately 1,500 products from the range of our basic vehicles. Those are passenger vehicles and tractors for municipal roads. Today they are helping Moscow and the oblast to tackle the snowfall. By the way, the region thanked us for that. It was important for me to hear from the governor that the program on renewing the passenger transport fleet remains in force,” he said.

According to Dmitry Krutoi, Moscow Oblast needs about 3,000 new buses within the next three years. “Specialists of [the mass transit operator] Mostransavto, which is the key transport company in the region, visited our Minsk Automobile Plant last year. Specifically the new bus manufacturing facility. They also went to see Belkommunmash Company. And as a matter of principle, today they are fully satisfied with the quality of our products. And the governor said that it will be necessary to offer them good terms via an open tender. Not only prices but also the financial and leasing programs that Belarus has are absolutely acceptable for the region. This is why he expressed hope that MAZ will be able to win these tenders,” the head of the Belarus President Administration said.

“Apart from that, there is an arrangement with MAZ regarding the construction of a multibrand center that is similar to the one we’ve recently opened in Rostov-on-Don to cater to Russia’s south. It will be a central hub here. Our trading house MAZ-RUS will need registration in Moscow Oblast. Land plots with preferential terms will be selected in return. And I think we will soon build such a center that will offer aftersales service, spare parts in addition to a large showroom for selling passenger vehicles,” Dmitry Krutoi added.
