Belarus ready to increase food supplies to Russia’s Khabarovsk Territory

“Belarus attaches much importance to cooperation with the Far East, and no distance can be a barrier to mutually beneficial contacts. Your visit shows the interest of the Khabarovsk Territory administration in interaction with our country. We believe that our cooperation potential is largely untapped,” said Viktor Karankevich.

He named some areas of mutual interest. “We see good prospects for deepening cooperation in the agro-industrial complex. We are ready to participate more actively in your agriculture development programs, to provide your region with tractors and other agricultural machinery, including sowing and tillage equipment and units that are not inferior to similar foreign items. We can sell all types of machinery we produce and offer rather comfortable financial instruments. Belarus can help Khabarovsk Territory provide dairy farms with the necessary equipment, as well as meet the region’s needs in veterinary drugs and mixed fodder. We are ready to increase the supply of food products that are appreciated in Russia for their great ‘price-quality’ ratio. We might consider direct supplies of your fish products and seafood to Belarus,” emphasized Viktor Karankevich.

Other areas of cooperation include the manufacturing industry. “Belarusian industry giants produce a wide range of machinery - from dump trucks, tractors, truck tractors to utility equipment, road-building and logging equipment. Their quality is as good as that of foreign brands. This is becoming particularly relevant amidst the sanctions. We look forward to continuing mutually beneficial cooperation and supplying heavy machinery to your region. The second line of cooperation is production of passenger vehicles. We are ready to consider production of vehicles with any specifications and features and we can even customize our products to a certain extent. Thus, we can supply passenger vehicles running not only on traditional fuel, but also on NGV fuel, as well as electric buses and trolleybuses,” said the deputy prime minister.

Belarus can also produce machine tools, automotive components, electrical equipment, and spare parts. “We see huge prospects for expanding mutual cooperation in this field. We are particularly interested in the production of component parts for aircraft,” added Viktor Karankevich.

Belarusian specialists can help Khabarovsk Territory build residential housing, social infrastructure, and transport infrastructure. “Belarus has good design organizations with the necessary competences. We are ready to design such facilities and supply quality building materials. We also have experience in the construction of roads, interchanges, bridges. We suggest involving Mogilevliftmash in replacing elevators in the region,” added the deputy prime minister.

Belarus is also ready to share its expertise in providing housing and utility services, including water treatment, processing of solid domestic waste, as well as supplies of modern technologies and equipment.
