Sport should serve as a vehicle for social mobility in the country, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited the sports and recreation center in the agro-town of Tikhinichi, Rogachev District, on 13 August, BelTA has learned.

“Sport should serve as a vehicle for social mobility,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
In his opinion, every young athlete in any village should have an opportunity to reach the top. “We must give them an opportunity to advance quickly. They should know and understand that if they train hard they will advance quickly and will not be stopped at any level,” said the head of state.
He added that at the local level, a lot depends on coaches who need to fight for their future.
Aleksandr Lukashenko was shown around the sports center, talked to coaches and young athletes, discussed with them their plans and prospects, and also spoke about the performance of Belarusian athletes at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Tikhinichi sports and recreation center was put into operation in 2010. It includes a gym, standard and children's pools, a game hall, a table tennis hall, a recovery There are football and mini-football fields with artificial turf on the grounds of the center.
The center also houses a branch of children's and youth school of the Olympic reserve No. 1of Rogachev District.
