Russian publishers to take part in Minsk book fair

Russian authors and publishers will take part in the 28th edition of the Minsk International Book Fair, BelTA learned from the press center of the Moscow International Book Fair, the directorate of which acts as the operator of the Books of Russia program at the Minsk forum.

“Russian authors and publishers will take part in the 28th edition of the Minsk International Book Fair from 18 to 21 February. Despite the restrictions associated with the pandemic, 77 Russian publishers will present their books in person in Minsk: in bookstores at their own stands or at the stand of the trade operator,” the press center noted.
The opening ceremony in Minsk will be attended by Co-chairman of the Board of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media Vladimir Grigoriev, Chairman of the Association of the Unions of Writers and Publishers of Russia Sergei Shargunov, Deputy Director of the Moscow International Book Fair Sergei Kaikin.
This year Russia will conduct an extensive program of meet-the-author events in a safe online format. Aleksey Slapovsky, Aleksey Ivanov, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Guzel Yakhina, Leonid Yuzefovich, Aleksey Varlamov, Ludmila Ulitskaya, Oleg Roy, Anna and Sergei Litvinov, and other Russian authors will be available online at mibf.info/minsk2021 or in broadcasts at the Books of Russia stand. Writers will present new books in a variety of genres.
At the CIS collective stand featuring the books of the member countries to mark the 30th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russia will present two book expositions: Books about Russia and Books for Children. The Museum Line project will offer video reviews and announcements of publications for the current and future exhibition projects of the leading museums of Moscow and St. Petersburg, presentations of new products and publishing programs of museums, including books for children.
Authors, art historians and museum curators will talk about the books, catalogs, scientific publications and exhibitions. This year's participants include the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Hermitage, the Art Volkhonka Publishing House, the New Jerusalem Museum and Exhibition Complex of Moscow Region, the Gulag History Museum, the State Russian Museum, and others.
