Speaking about trade and economic cooperation, the governor noted that bilateral trade in the first quarter of this year exceeded RUB7 billion, a significant increase from last year. He emphasized that both exports and imports have grown, meaning the cooperation benefits both sides.
“We are moving toward long-term leasing contracts with the Republic of Belarus,” he said. “These contracts allow us to extend the planning horizon by several years, which is highly advantageous for enterprises.”
This approach is already shaping cooperation between Primorye Territory and Belarusian manufacturer MAZ, with a five-year contract for the supply of ambulances specially modified to account for the region’s terrain. Similar long-term contracts are being planned for the procurement of buses from Belarus. Furthermore, Primorye Territory has set a goal of securing a five-year contract for the supply of elevators from Mogilevliftmash. The region’s needs amount to approximately 500 to 600 elevators per year.
