Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the field of human rights protection was discussed at a meeting between Irina Velichko, Head of the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and Sergey Vershinin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry has informed about this.

"The parties touched upon a wide range of topical issues on the international agenda. The ways of strengthening cooperation between the two countries on the relevant UN and OSCE platforms on human rights issues were considered in detail," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The commitment to close cooperation on international environmental and climate issues was confirmed, within the framework of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, when nominating candidates to limited UN bodies," the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
