September 26-29, an official delegation of Belarus headed by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov will visit New York to participate in the high week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, reported in the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The Belarusian delegation will promote the ideas of a multipolar world and regionalism, as well as strengthen cooperation with countries advocating a fairer world order based on mutual respect and consideration of legitimate national interests.

Special emphasis will be placed on the illegality and destructive effects of unilateral coercive measures used by a number of countries to pressure sovereign States.

The General Assembly will also discuss food security, historical memory, particularly in the context of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, and the preservation of traditional family values.

Maxim Ryzhenkov will hold more than ten bilateral meetings with colleagues from Europe, Latin America, South-East Asia, as well as with the UN leadership.

It is expected that the main efforts of the UN will be aimed at finding opportunities for a ceasefire in Palestine and Ukraine, as well as at creating conditions for improving the humanitarian situation in the respective regions.
