Lukashenko sends national holiday greetings to Lithuania

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the people of Lithuania on the national holiday that symbolizes an important milestone in Lithuanian statehood, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The history of peaceful coexistence of our peoples goes back several centuries. Belarusians have always respected the right of their neighbors to determine the path of independent development. Our good-neighborly relations have been maintained through public diplomacy, strong humanitarian and economic ties,” the president said in a press statement.

The Belarusian head of state noted that, despite all the contradictions, Minsk is still interested in expanding cooperation with Lithuanian regions, companies and institutions. “In order to return the bilateral dialogue to a constructive mode, it is necessary to make the most of the great cooperation potential in various fields. I am confident that the joint work will help build trust and meets the expectations of the people of both countries,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

The Belarus president wished the people of Lithuania peace, harmony and confidence in the future.
