Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Nicaragua

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Nicaragua President José Daniel Ortega Saavedra as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Nicaragua is one of the countries in Latin America, which, despite never-ending external pressure, continue to defend their national interests and pursue an independent policy,” the message of greetings reads.
 
The head of state praised Belarusian-Nicaraguan interaction, based on similar values and views on the world order. Today mutual cooperation is promoted by both an active political dialogue and economic projects beneficial for both countries.
 
“I know about your plans to visit our region and I count on you to find an opportunity to visit Belarus to see our hospitable, friendly country,” the president said.
 
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished José Daniel Ortega Saavedra strong health and further successes, and also peace and prosperity to the people of Nicaragua.
