Kremlin confirms Putin, Trump to speak Tuesday

U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin are due to talk on Tuesday, 18 March, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing for the press, TASS reports.

Donald Trump earlier said that he planned to hold a conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on 18 March.

“Yes, that's how it is,” Dmitry Peskov said. “Such a conversation is planned for Tuesday.”

Earlier, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff said that great progress was made in discussing the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict at a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Moscow. According to him, “the two presidents are going to have a really good and positive discussion this week.”
