Events in Belarus compared to preparations for Ukraine's first Maidan revolution

The ongoing developments in Belarus look like the preparations for the first Maidan revolution in Ukraine, former prime minister of Ukraine Nikolai Azarov told the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“I have been following the recent developments and I want to say that this reminds me of the preparations for the first Maidan revolution that started in Ukraine in 2003-2004. It is absolutely clear that western secret services started preparing for the Belarusian election long beforehand. I have all the necessary information to say that,” Nikolai Azarov said.

In his words, a great number of people had been trained to fulfill their instructions at a certain point. “All coups are usually timed to elections. In other words, elections are the time of de-legitimization of the authorities. By this time, a great amount of work had been done to demonize the government,” the former Ukrainian premier said.
