Eismont: Lukashenko has pardoned 52 convicts on humanitarian grounds

In an act based on the principles of humanism, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has pardoned 52 prisoners, as reported by his press secretary, Natalya Eismont.

“Indeed, today the president of Belarus has pardoned 52 people. This decision was based on the principles of humanism. The age of the convicts, their health conditions, and family reunification matters were also taken into account,” the press secretary noted.

She added that those pardoned included “leaders and members of extremist and terrorist organizations, participants in mass riots, and representatives of extremist and destructive media.” All those who were pardoned have left the territory of the Republic of Belarus today.
