All attempts to put pressure on Belarus are wrongful and futile, BelTA learned from the statement the Belarusian parliament has released in view of the European Union's resolution on Belarus. The press service of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus shared the text of the document with BelTA.

The statement reads: “On 26 November the European Parliament passed a resolution on Belarus, which once again contains multiple accusations based on a distorted and biased evaluation of the events that are happening in our country. It seems European MPs fail to hear the opinion of the majority of Belarusian citizens, who have made their choice and want to live in a stable and safe country. The National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus views the adoption of the resolution as unacceptable interference in domestic affairs of a sovereign and independent state. The resolution's appeals for sanctions threaten the progress that has been achieved in Belarus-EU cooperation, including interparliamentary cooperation. Belarusian parliamentarians resolutely believe that all attempts to put pressure on Belarus and the intention to change the country's development vector are wrongful and futile. We will continue making our country stronger solely in the interests of the Belarusian people.”
