High on the agenda of the meeting was the set of important forecast documents for 2025: draft presidential decrees on the key indicators and parameters of social and economic development of the Republic of Belarus for 2025 and on target indicators of the Belarusian monetary policy for 2025. The set of documents also included draft laws on the national budget for 2025 and on amendments to laws (adjustments to the Tax Code, etc.). A wide range of experts representing the economic bloc of the country was invited to discuss the issues.
“Today we are considering important issues. The draft law on the budget, the social and economic development forecast for 2025, monetary policy are the issues that we should consider at the Expert Council,” Natalya Kochanova said. “The issue has already been discussed at a meeting of the Council of Ministers. I think you have already been made aware of the forecasts proposed for 2025. We have invited a wide range of experts to hear the opinions of the local authorities, vice governors. I would ask you to be brief in your reports, because we have already studied and discussed these materials. As for the experts, please give your suggestions and assessment.”
The Expert Council under the Council of the Republic continued its work in a renewed composition in the eighth convocation. An additional expert “filter” helps make balanced and well-considered decisions, consider proposed innovations and assess the potential risks of their implementation.
