Belarus and Laos demonstrate mutual interest in deepening cooperation

On behalf of his compatriots and himself, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thonglong Sisoulit and the people of this country on the 50th anniversary of the Republic's proclamation. This was reported in the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Laos has achieved significant success in building a strong state, is confidently moving towards socio-economic development, promotes peace and security in the region and the world, and occupies a worthy place in the international arena," the message of greetings reads.
Relations between Minsk and Vientiane are showing positive dynamics, reflecting mutual interest in deepening cooperation in the political, trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian fields in accordance with the traditions laid down decades ago, the Head of State stated.
According to him, the two countries have the necessary interstate instruments and meaningful agreements to realize the economic potential of the partnership. "I hope that in the near future we will launch joint projects to modernize industry, ensure food security, mechanize agriculture, as well as in other areas that are of fundamental importance to our countries," the President stressed.
The Belarusian leader noted that he would be glad to welcome the President of Laos to Minsk on an official visit to discuss priority issues on the bilateral agenda, regional and international issues.
Alexander Lukashenko wished Thonglun Sisoulit good health and inexhaustible energy for the implementation of all plans and initiatives, and peace and progress to the people of Laos.
