812 journalists will work in the CEC Info Centre of Belarus

The world's largest media are planning to cover the elections in Belarus. 812 journalists have been accredited to the CEC Info Centre, BelTA has learned.

It was noted that the Ministry of Information of Belarus together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had completed the processing of applications for accreditation of journalists to work in the CEC information centre. A total of 481 representatives of 24 Belarusian media and 331 journalists from 70 foreign media have been granted access to the information centre in the Palace of the Republic. Foreign media will be represented by the largest media outlets from 23 countries of Asia, Europe, Latin and North America, and the Middle East.
Traditionally, high interest was shown by representatives of Russian media. The leading world media - BBC, Reuters (UK), Al Jazeera (Qatar), China Media Corporation (CCTV and CGTN), TASS, VGTRK (Russia), CNN, Associated Press (USA), AFP (France), as well as major regional media - TeleSUR (Venezuela), ZDF, ARD (Germany), EFE (Spain), France Télévisions (France) - have also sent their applications for accreditation.
The grand opening of the information centre in the Palace of the Republic will take place on 24 January, and press conferences and briefings of the leadership of the Central Election Commission of Belarus and international observer missions will be held there on 25-27 January.
